in 1960. He graduated from
San Angelo Jr. College in
1962. He then graduated
from the University of Texas
at Austin, Texas, in 1965.
Nelson began his working
career as a teacher and coach.
He went to work for State
Farm Insurance in 1968 and
retired in 2004.
