These poems are extracted from Thomas Milner's blog Notes from the Waiting Room written between 2011-2012, when he was living in a care home overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in north Portugal and dealing with the consequences of multiple operations to remove brain tumours. Tom died in 2018.
