The Mennonites eventually moved to Prussia, later absorbed by Frederick the Great as West Prussia, over many years. The Derksens find themselves having settled there several generations ago, but now in the mid-1770s are finding it more and more difficult to to live out their sectarian faith. One pitfall after another comes their way, both in their home and family, and in their business ventures.
