This memoir of Hannah Kilham, published in 1837 and compiled from her journals, traces the life of a remarkable nineteenth-century activist, philanthropist, educator and missionary. She fought for the rights of the poor, for children being exploited and for Irish immigrants, and against the practices of colonialism.
