An enthusiast for British art, Sir Francis Chantrey (1781–1841) was, at the peak of his career, the portrait sculptor of choice in early nineteenth-century Britain. Originally published in 1851, this work commemorates the great sculptor, paying particular attention to his birthplace of Norton, near Sheffield.
