The post-colonial afterlives of imperial heroes are studied in this book, from a variety of perspectives. It reveals that the reputations of some heroic figures of ‘New Imperialism’ have remained alive and often rejuvenated after decolonisation. It was first published as a special issue of the Journal of Imperial and Commonwealth History.
