The history of Old Hanover Church is a wonderful genealogical resource for those descendants of early residents of Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, covering the period 1735-1877. In his research, the author gathered information from the minutes of the Presbyteries of Donegal and of Carlisle; the records of the Boards of Trustees; records from past pastors; tax lists; and other sources of historical and genealogical data. In addition to annual church summaries, the books contains numerous lists, including tax lists, assessments, births, deaths, marriages, baptisms, tombstone information, church membership rolls, etc. A further contribution is the inclusion of Notes relating to a Congregation of Scotch-Irish Presbyterians, of which little has been known.
