When rare book collector Arthur Harrison is found stabbed, bookseller and amateur sleuth Theodore Terhune is hired to sell to sell the deceased man's library. It becomes apparent the murderer is still hunting for something and Terhune must figure out which book and why before he becomes the next victim.
