Once Adam has completed his training to become a knight (or Nasi, as such things are called on the planet Gannah), he will be heir to the throne. Or that's what he thinks, until he stumbles upon a village of Old Gannahan survivors. Hard to believe, because they were thought to have all died in the plague decades earlier.
