»The Federal Government Commissioner. Institution, Constitutionality and Need for Regulation«: Based on the phenotypes of previous federal government commissioners, the study examines and analyses their legal foundation, their legal status as well as their functions and competences in order to develop a conceptual definition of the figure of the federal government commissioner. The focus is also on the implications of the mostly independent organisation of the federal government commissioner and its lack of a legal basis in the democratic system.
