»Constitutional limitations for the guarantee of state security«: Modern challenges for an effective protection of the fundamental rights increasingly arise not only from single serious impairments of the protected rights, but also from a continuous expan-sion of state powers. The thesis examines constitutional standards that can be applied to provide against an increasing narrowing of constitutionally guaranteed freedoms, in the sense of a »comprehensive scrutiny«.
