Building Services engineers are focusing their research on reducing the carbon footprint from buildings in order to avoid major climatic changes. Natural Ventilation is one of the answers to this problem, yet poor decision making during design stage causes naturally ventilated buildings to fail in achieving their goals. "OPTIMUM CONTROL OF NATURAL VENTILATION" is the ideal book that investigates a naturally ventilated building by carrying out a parametric study on its vent openings. It uses Genetic Algorithm as an optimization tool to vary the vent openings and report an optimum vent configuration. The optimum vent openings found by the optimization process in this book not only met the summer time overheating criteria for the naturally ventilated building taken as the case study but also reduced the annual energy consumed by the building.
