The Balanced Scorecard (BSC) by Kaplan and Norton is considered to be one of the most successful and widely used management concepts today. It constitutes an instrument for the strategic management of organizational and process performance.
This book introduces a cooking recipe for successfully implementing a process-oriented BSC within a company. This recipe is based on the insights gained during a real-word project conducted at a large engineering company.
The book starts with introducing the BSC implementation project along with the surrounding setting at the company. After a brief introduction to the original BSC approach proposed by Kaplan and Norton, the cooking recipes are introduced in an easy-to-understand format. Each ingredient is illustrated by an example from the above-mentioned real-world project. For assisting the reader in conducting similar BSC implementation projects, the appendix contains helpful and tested templates.
