This special issue brings together thirteen original papers that examine contemporary and thoughtprovoking dimensions of criminal law concerning environmental offences. It explores the evolving directions of criminal policy aimed at addressing and criminalising serious environmental harm, including ecocide. Member of the Special Section of the Ethics and Disciplinary Tribunal of the Brazilian Bar Association – Rio de Janeiro (OAB/RJ). She is also President of the Young Penalists Committee of the AIDP. Dawid Marko is a criminal defence lawyer and Research and Teaching Assistant at the Department of Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics, Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Gdańsk (Poland). He is also a Member of the Young Penalists Committee of the AIDP. Gonzalo Guerrero is a lawyer and lecturer at the University of Buenos Aires. He is also a Member of the Young Penalists Committee of the AIDP.
