The year 1857 is a milestone in the political and cultural history of India. Since the independence of the country, 1857 is called as the first war of independence or national movement. Because the military coup which started from Meerut nearly hundred and fifty years ago was the first leader of the revolution and the first voice of the war of independence. And the people of India have recognized that this rebellion of Meerut is the fountainhead of our national movement.
