The intimate appreciation of an anonymous painting while at an exposition in Paris brings the three French women Ava, Hélène and Béatrice together. Little do they know that their paths will cross again. A walk down the memory lane will bring life-changing confessions to the surface. Hélène, fighting a trauma from her youth, finds comfort in an upcoming divorce. Béatrice tries to come to peace with the stillborn baby that she has never kept in her arms, while Ava is aiming to travel the world to find herself.
Everything changes the moment Hélène, triggered with Béatrice's story, does some research just to find out that Béatrice's child might still be alive under a breathtaking conspiracy of the Catholic Church.
Their paths will cross again a few months later, in Inverness, Scotland, where the promise that was once made to the mountains is about to be fulfilled.
