Les Principes de la Loi Naturelle Appliqués à la Conduite et aux Affaires des Nations et des Souverains - A Reproduction of the French Edition of The Law of Nations of 1758

Omschrijving

"For there is nothing on earth more acceptable to that Supreme Deity who rules over this whole world than the councils and assemblages of men bound together by law, which are called States." -Cicero, Somnitim Scipionis (51 BC) Le Droit des Gens, Volume I by Emer de Vattel is a 1916 replica of Books I and II of the original French edition published in 1758, with an introduction by Albert de Lapradelle, a French jurist. The English translation, The Law of Nations, changed the landscape of international law and is still consulted by jurists worldwide. Both Benjamin Franklin and George Washington held copies of the book, which was used in developing the system of modern conscription, among other American law practices. Volume II in the original French and Volume III with the 1916 English translation of both volumes by Charles G. Fenwick are also available from Cosimo Classics.
